Q: I don’t have a computer.  Where can I apply for jobs at Coach America?

• You can access jobs at Coach America anywhere you access the internet (including public libraries, community colleges and internet café’s).

Q: How do I apply for a job posted on your Career site?

• You would do a search based on job and location you are seeking. Once located you would apply by clicking: Apply. You would then register to complete an application for that specific position.  The registration information would contain a user name and password of your choosing which you would record and use on future visits to the on-line site.  Upon completion of the online application it will be delivered directly to a hiring managers’ inbox.

Q: I can’t find the location I am interested in working at within the search page?  Can I apply to locations which do not have a listed opening?

• If the location you seek to work at is not listed they are not taking applications at this time and you can not apply.  Please check back on a regular basis because a position could open up at any time.

Q: I can get to the internet but I don’t have an e-mail address.  Why do I need one?

• The application requires an e-mail address for all candidates.  Having an e-mail address allows the Recruiting Department to communicate to you at every step of the hiring process.  If you not have an e-mail address there are several organizations which provide free e-mail.  You may visit: http://www.yahoo.com, http://www.google.com, http://www.hotmail.com, or your Internet Services Provider for more details.

Q: As a current Coach America employee, must I add in all employment information, including current job duties?

• Yes, employees’ applications are evaluated based on the information contained within.  Omission of your current position and/or duties may result in the rejection of your application. 

Q: Why has my record expired?

• The system sends an e-mail to registrants who do not complete the application within 48 hours after they leave the system requesting them to come back and complete.  If you do not return and complete within 10 business days the system will automatically expire the incomplete record.  If you still wish to apply to the same position you may do so.

Q: Can I just attach or paste my resume instead of filling out the on-line application?

• No.  You must complete an on-line application to be considered for a driving position.

Q: The application will not let me type in my telephone number?  What’s wrong?

• If you are using a keyboard with numbers on the right and numbers on the top you need to use the numbers on the top of the keyboard.

Q: Why is the application so long?

• Department of Transportation regulations require that we ask the questions which are on our application due to the nature of the position. 

Q: Why do I have to do this online, don’t you have a form you could just mail me?

• Due the increasing computerization of all of our systems Coach America has made the decision to only accept on-line applications.  We do not accept paper applications.

Q: I applied several days (weeks) ago. Why haven’t I heard anything back?

• Each location that is hiring must review your completed application and then update your status in order to trigger a message back to you.  If you have not received anything check your “junk” or “trash” folder” to make sure the message did not get caught in your spam filter.  If you still do not locate any communication please make sure you have completed and digitally signed the application.  The only way a manager can consider your application if it is signed.

Q: What is a Pre-hire document and why should I complete it?

• Corporations are required by law to request that job seekers disclose their ethnicity, gender and veteran status of each and every job seeker and to confidentially manage the information. Disclosing this information is not a requirement to be considered for the position.
